You found a scent you love in Bangkok. Now the only question is how to get it home. Here is a simple guide to flying with perfume and home fragrance, so nothing gets left behind at security.

Can I bring perfume in my carry-on?

Yes, if each bottle is 100ml or less. Most airports follow the same rule for liquids in cabin bags. Every container must be 100ml or smaller, and all of them must fit together in one clear resealable bag of about one litre.

Our Eau de Parfum comes in 50ml bottles, so it fits easily. Keep it in its box inside the clear bag, or take the box out to save space and pack it flat in your suitcase.

What about bigger bottles?

Anything over 100ml has to go in your checked luggage. That includes our 130ml reed diffusers and our body care, such as the 150ml body oil and the 250ml lotion and cleanser.

Wrap each bottle in clothes, close the cap tightly and put it in a sealed plastic bag in case of leaks. Pack it in the middle of the suitcase, not at the edges.

Which Somuti products are easiest to travel with?

  • Eau de Parfum 50ml, carry-on friendly
  • Discovery Set, four 3ml vials, the lightest way to bring several scents home
  • Songwat 5 Set, all five Songwat 5 scents in 3ml vials
  • Blended Oil 10ml, small enough for any bag
  • Scented Sachet, solid, so no liquid rules at all
  • Scented Candle, solid wax in a glass, best packed in checked luggage so the glass is protected

If you are travelling with hand luggage only, the Discovery Set and the sachets are the safest choice.

Is there anything I should check before I fly?

Rules can differ by airline and by country, especially for fragrance oils in checked bags and for bringing scented products into your home country. It only takes a minute to check your airline’s website before you pack.

Can I try before I buy?

Yes. Every scent is on testers at our shop on Song Wat Road, so you can choose in person and pack exactly what you need. Find the shop or see the Discovery Sets.
