About Somuti

In Thai, สมมุติ means to suppose, or to imagine. We bent the word a little, the way Thai slang does, and it became Somuti. We believe a scent has no fixed story. It becomes whatever the person wearing it remembers, or imagines.

The lotus that started it

As a university student, our founder walked into a scent shop in Bangkok and fell for a candle called Lotus. Only after leaving did it sink in. They had never actually smelled a lotus. Thais see the flower every day, in temples and offerings, yet almost no one knows its scent. That gap between what we see and what we smell became Somuti.

Our philosophy

Speed and hustle have become the way we judge a life. Yet some of the most beautiful feelings are the conflicting ones, like peaceful excitement, or being lonely and happy at the same time. There is no rule for how a scent should make you feel. Somuti is a way to open a new perspective through smell, and maybe find something you have always longed for.

Every Somuti scent has a palette of its own, taken from a real painting. Its mix of colours shows how the scent changes on your skin, from the top notes to the base. Read the palette story

How we make it

We build each scent from a concept, then search the world for quality raw materials. Our Aromatherapy scents are blended only from essential oils of aromatic plants. Our Aromatic scents blend natural essential oils with fine fragrance oil. Everything is made to GMP standards and never tested on animals.
